Palace on Wheels Features

The cabins are furnished luxuriously, as befits the private coach of a Maharaja. Wall to wall carpeting, two dining cars serving a wide range of traditional Indian and international cuisines, a well stocked bar, and a very personalized service make the Palace on Wheels counted among the Ten Best Luxury Trains of the World.

The fourteen coaches are named after former princely states of Rajasthan and have décor to match. They are fully air-conditioned and have a combination of four twin bedded chambers with all modern amenities found in a luxury hotel’s rooms. The furniture with its inlaid motifs has been custom created for the Palace on Wheels. Each coach is done up in the colors, painting style and furniture of the princely state whose Coat of Arms it carries, making each coach different and special.

Its two restaurants are called The Maharaja and The Maharani and serve the best of Continental, Chinese, India and Rajasthani cuisines. The bar is also well stocked. The train even has a library onboard. The service on Palace on Wheels is extremely personalized and every need of the guests is taken care of. It has Doctor on Call, laundry, satellite phone, internet and all such facilities.
