Jag Mandir is a small and beautiful palace in Kota. It is made on an island inside an artificial lake called Kishore Sagar. Kota is a town with ancient history. Lying on the banks of the Chambal River, it is most well known for its distinct school of miniature paintings and its saris.
Kishore Sagar was made in 1346 AD by Prince Dher Deh of Bundi. Jag Mandir is a charming red-sandstone monument surrounded by the calm waters of the lake. A boat-ride in the lake and an excursion to the nearby Keshar Bagh famous for its royal cenotaphs are a delightful way to spend time in Kota.
